About me

  1. Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri
  2. Current residence: Northern Virginia
  3. Pronouns: she/her/hers (why and how did this ever become a thing?)
  4. Age: five months younger than Caroline Kennedy, four months older than Madonna. Go figure.
  5. Marital status: married to my husband for 28 years. When conjugal love works, it’s the most wonderful thing in the world.
  6. Politics: Red-pilled. Disaffected Democrat, leaning GOP
  7. Music: I love my female singers – Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Nina Simone and many more. Lately, I’ve been hooked on The Bee Gees (before Saturday Night Fever). Otherwise, my taste in music is very eclectic: check out the #MusicMonday feature!
  8. Radio: WAMU 88.5 FM (talk), WPFW 89.3 FM (talk and an eclectic variety of music), and WBJC 91.5 FM (classical music).
  9. News analysis: PJ Media, The Federalist, and The Free Press.
  10. Food: Indian food. I cook good Indian food, although I’m not Indian.
  11. Fashion: Casual. Blame it on COVID and the fact that I retired over five years ago. Favorite brands: Lands’ End, J.Crew, Uniqlo, and Garnet Hill.
  12. Makeup: L’Oréal Paris, because it’s readily accessible, but above all, I like to experiment with different brands. I shop the world – Japan, Korea, UK and New Zealand.
  13. Israel: Passionate about Israel . I could not be more excited about the Abraham Accords.
  14. TV: haven’t had TV service for many years. Not subscribed to any streaming service.
  15. Reading: I am, as my husband says, a “vociferous” reader (he means “voracious). Not particularly drawn to fiction. My interest are wide ranging : visit my Goodreads list.
  16. Movies: Mary Poppins, Breaker Morant (I love the character arc of Jack Thompson’s Major J.F. Thomas), My Brilliant Career (or could it be the meaning it had for me as a young adult 🤔?), and Kind Hearts and Coronets
  17. Travel: countries within Europe and Asia.
  18. COVID: COVID, COVID, COVID (HT Donald Trump). Dutifully got vaccinated, even though I’m deeply sceptical, even cynical, about the roles of the Government, social media, and Big Pharma in this crisis.
