Check out the makeup brands that JCPenney carries
It’s been a crazy ol’ time as hubby and I are holed up at Comfort Inn, waiting to move into our apartment.
As hubby was shopping for clothes, I browsed JCPenney’s beauty department. As you know, Sephora used to be inside JCPenney stores, but now Sephora has a tie-up with Kohl’s.
JCPenney has now set up its own beauty department, and I couldn’t be happier. I like discovering new makeup brands, especially brands not carried by Sephora, Ulta, or CVS.
JCPenney carries these makeup brands:
- Dose of Colors
- Exa Beauty
- Eyeko
- Forever 21
- Jason Wu Beauty
- KimChi Chic Beauty
- Lime Crime
- Mineral Fusion
- Mirabella
- Relevant
- Shades by Shan
- Thirteen Lune
- Velour Lashes
Visit your nearby JCPenney to check out the variety of beauty brands it carries. I visited my local JCPenney store at Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax, VA. Alternatively, browse JCPenney Beauty online.
Check out the Jason Wu Beauty eyeshadow palette in Matte Agave
There’s nothing I like more than a matte neutral (or nearly neutral) eyeshadow palette. My latest acquisition is the Flora 9 in Matte Agave eyeshadow palette comprising nine earthy shades from Jason Wu Beauty.
Blast from the past – Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow
Look what I found among my Facebook memories.
It’s Rouge Bunny Rouge‘s eyeshadow palette in Rare Garden. RBR’s website is temporarily down for purchases, but this eyeshadow palette is not shown on the website.
Is it me or is the selection of Rouge Bunny Rouge makeup smaller than before? Same way with Le MĂŠtier de BeautĂŠ.

Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Eyeshadow Palette đđť
More often than not, Iâm satisfied with the performance of my makeup: however, I sometimes come across products that elicit a WOW! Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Eyeshadow Palette is one of those products.
What is Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Eyeshadow Palette?

Itâs a five-pan eyeshadow palette with a gradient of matte taupe shades of increasing intensity:
- Taupeless ( light taupe )
- Let’s Chill ( neutral taupe )
- Sign Off ( medium taupe )
- Fine Print ( cool grey )
- Smokeshow ( charcoal brown )
Everyone who wears eyeshadow should have neutral matte shades in her eyeshadow stash.
Itâs crazy pigmented, too.
These eyeshadows are more brownish than Urban Decayâs Naked2 Basics Eyeshadow Paletteâs matte taupe shades, which are more grayish.
I use a lighter shade on the lid and a transition shade slightly darker than my skin color (light). For my complexion, Taupeless works as a transition shade, so Iâll use a lighter shade from my eyeshadow stash. If I have any criticism about Dose of Colors Pretty Cool Eyeshadow Palette, itâs that I wish that it had a shade lighter than Taupeless for my lid.
Lisa Eldridge expands her makeup line
Something to get excited about: MUA Lisa Eldridge, formerly creative director for LancĂ´me, has expanded her eponymous makeup line.
Lisa’s first launch comprised three LE velvet lipsticks in November 2018.
Nearly three years later, Lisa has expanded her makeup line to include highlighter, blush, lip gloss, and lipstick. She writes:
“The first one [YouTube video] âMy Spring Summer Collectionâ showcases all the new products in my Spring / Summer Collection. From my brand new âSeamless Skinâ Elevated Glow Highlighter and Enlivening Blush, to the new shades of my Gloss Embrace Lip Treatment and Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour.
Well, I don’t use highlighter or lip gloss. I have all the blush I want or need (and yes, at age 63, I more often than not use powder blush!). But I’m daft about lipstick. Sheers and cream lipsticks are my favorites. I probably have a collection of 100 lipsticks.
If I were to choose among Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour lipsticks, I’d choose Spirited Away, described as “a very modern rosewood which traverses the colour spectrum from brown to red to pink with a warm tone underscoring.”

The Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour lipsticks may be pre-ordered at https://www.lisaeldridge.com/collections/luxuriously-lucent-lip-colour. The price for a single lipstick is ÂŁ26.00, which works out to US $36.89, as of May 29, 2021. Shipping to the U.S. is free if you select delivery by USPS.
Daniel Sandler Lipshine #Lipstick
Oh man, yet another drool-worthy lipstick collection, this time from British MUA Daniel Sandler:
AeroMinerale spray-on makeup
I first learned of AeroMinerale spray-on makeup through a press release about a tie-in with the Breaking Dawn movie. Over 1000 cans were used on the set! It appeared on Bellaâs dressing table!
But what amused (or disgusted) me is that the pink aerosol can was described as âsoon-to-be-Iconic.â G-d knows that I think that âiconicâ is one of the abused words in fashion and beauty. It sets my teeth on edge. âSoon-to-be-iconicâ??

| AeroMinerale Hydrating Mineral Foundation |
Anyway, back to the product. You may apply AeroMinerale Hydrating Mineral Foundation by spraying it directly on your face. However, I wouldnât recommend it. It leaves too much deposit. I had to blot with a tissue but even then, the coverage was too thick. Moreover, it stains clothing and gunks up the hair. I prefer spraying AeroMinerale on a dampened wedge makeup sponge and applying it with the sponge, as shown in this video featuring AeroMinerale founder Yolanda Halston:
AeroMinerale also has a spray-on Hydrating Mineral Primer. The primer also leaves too much deposit, so I blot with a tissue after applying it. Even so, itâs fun to use.
AeroMinerale Hydrating Mineral Foundation comes in ten shades, from Ivory to Ebony. Want to know your best shade? Use the AeroMinerale web siteâs extensive database of foundation shades for a match.
AeroMinerale is worth a try. A 1.5-oz can sells for $20 at aerominerale.com, but you can buy it for less. I bought mine for $16-17 dollars at CVS. To find even lower prices, use Google Shopping. I found $12 (clearance) at drugstore.com.
